V12 Co-founder Volunteers with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation Mentoring Program for Young Men

The best part of learning and teaching yoga is sharing the practice with others.

Our V12 co-founder Ade Hazley has dedicated his life to helping young men change their mindsets to change their situations.

This past month, V12 Yoga was invited to attend the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation Mentoring Program for Young Men to facilitate early morning yoga for the mothers of the young men attending the summer camp. This annual mentoring program, which began in Dallas in 2011, focuses on developing young men to become strong, responsible and productive citizens, through workshops, guest speakers and powerful interactive sessions.IMG_2450[1]

Through the program, Ade saw first-hand the power of mentoring these young men and how receptive they were to hearing from someone who was once in their shoes or understood their struggles.

He decided to donate his time by speaking to a small group of young men at the Mark Cuban Center. His conversation goals included “making commitments to your commitment” and sharing his testimony on building inner strength.

Check out this video of Ade speaking at the event.

“I have made a commitment to working with young men in Dallas,” said Ade. “We have to learn to serve and mentor these boys who need strong male leaders to help guide them through life. A lot of these boys come from single-parent homes and have never had a male role model in their lives.”

Stay tuned for more exciting projects and adventures with Ade and V12 Yoga!
